Overall it has some good contrast and reminds me of beat writing. My favorite homeless sign that I've run into several times is the "I need money to buy alcohol" sign. They're the only ones I give money to. If you want a little more of a reaction shot, try having someone throw a bit of ice water on them before you shoot. Hot (McDonald's) coffee works too, but the water is cheaper. A more profitable sign might be: "Kick me: $1.00. Kick me when I'm down: $5.00." I like the Starbucks cup in the first photo.
