Dreaming in Conception

Dreaming in Conception
The fullness of my belly
pooching out in its gentle roundness
will someday be the host to almond eyes and a bud mouth,
skin like tobacco, smelling of sweaty charcoal drenched in honey.
Or maybe wild hair and smilingly mysterious eyes, aquiline nose and
A smile that will teach Con Ed a little about sunshine,
Natural light,
Resource conservation
recycling a little bit of the beauty in you
With the ruggedness in me.
A small brown thing with doll in hand
Clutching my knees in a hide-and-go seek gone mad
Toothy grin and in masquerade.
For now the preciousness lives as only a dream,
A cluster of minuscule eggs, gathered in a mini bingo game
Hoping that theirs is the number called -
That the grand number caller
reads the love in their woman’s eyes
and take the chance of
going skin on skin
loving that dark place deep within
allowing light to fill the warm gentle hallways
With waiting students to learn.

have a gr8 weekend jones
awesome post!
Pregnancy! Am I right?

Thanks for the love -
It is indeed about pregnancy. . . well at least dreaming about it
That’s a great poem. When you are rewarded with your “Bingo winnings”, maybe you should tuck this poem into the photo album.
that’s a great poem. I love the hints of conservation in it.
I’m a Eco- conservative, too. check out my blog some times.
