I put in my 2 cents (!!) and agree with Meleah and Sue. If I lent anyone money, I would have the intention of never seeing it again. In fact, I may actually lend it in that way, telling the friend it was up to them.

The thing is, my friends are not the borrowing type and if they actually asked to borrow money, dang, they might be in a world of hurt. Now..borrowing money to start a business or something, that would be different. That would be a "let's get this in writing" type of thing.

I wonder at the persistence of your friend, all that checking. Based on what I know about you, I can't see you going back on your word. Then again, that's her deal and not yours.

$200 is quite the loan. It'd be one thing to cover say, groceries for 2 weeks but another for something frivolous.

In some ways I'd be very touched if one of my friends asked me for a loan. It would not only show their level of need but I think it would also show some level of trust - it would take me a lot to ask someone for money that wasn't family. Of course, that's me and my friends. I know there are folks out there who have no problem asking for money with no intention of paying anyone back!

Okay, that is a little too insistent. If someone is doing you a favor, the last thing you want to do is piss someone off. . . You are better than I.

Budget -- wasn't that the name of that teenager in those movies from the 60s?
I don't mind this cliff-hanger, but I'd still like to know where you shot this week's WW.

I agree with Sue on a few points--I really, really don't like to borrow money, if I lend it it's with the spirit that I may never see it, and WHY did you create that cliff-hanger? That's messed up--you better post over the weekend, lol :-)

I am like Meleah with money lending. If the friend insists on paying back, I just take it with a grain of salt and let it go.

I also never ask my friends for money. Most of my friends don't have much either.

Why do you leave us hanging again? hahah I am so curious how this turns out!

I never ever lend money to friends expecting to be paid back. Thats a risk you have to be willing to take if you want to remain friends.
