A Post About A Post
By Urban Thought on July 4, 2008 @ 11:48 am
Being called a morning person isn’t such a bad thing. Although, when I was called a morning person I was looked at with a side eyed glance which really meant “you being so happy in the morning is really not the move right now.” I’d apologize to her but – honestly – why should I apologize for having joy in my life?
So I put up a post yesterday about a blogging award Urban Observation received from The Marvalus View. If you read it and only saw Ms. Q’s name please look again. The post has been updated with the correct info.
I think I’m going to be out now. I have the urge to get the gym thing poppin and get started on the day ahead of me.
If you don’t do anything else today please have a good time doing it. (Makes sense?)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I am a morning person as well. Usually I’m fairly alert right out of bed but it’s been a while since there has been anyone to remark on this fact!
No reason to apologize for being happy first thing in the morning! Whoopie for you! I wake up just before 5 during the week, get to the gym, run 5 miles, hop on a 7am train and write in my little black book of magic (affirmations and things I’m grateful for) and when I get into work just after 8am..I’m feeling very happy. For all I know, people think I take drugs!
Actually, I’ve been meeting more like minded and happy people and I do believe that you attract what you think about! My boss is great – a real sweetheart of a guy and KIND. I mean, wow. Another manager is mentoring me – it’s just kinda happened and he’s also a great manager and leader and works from kindness.
Happy-happy-joy-joy and why not? People think that being “realistic” is being cynical and sarcastic and sour. Wow. Realism sounds like nail-in-the-eye fun!
Life does have its downs but it’s the people who are positive and joyous who recover. I’m happy you wake up with a smile!
Your wish for the day makes sense to me, although I’ve already blown it. I think I’ll post about this “morning person” thing, and whether I’m one or not — thanks for the inspiration! Have a good weekend.
My coworkers think I’m a morning person but I’m really not. I wake up early and somewhat cranky. By the time I shower and get dressed I’m feeling OK, but let me get in the car and blast some music, by the time I get to work I’m quite ‘chipper.’ My coworkers have no idea that I have to work my way up to it. LOL
I only saw her name, but I didn’t think it was a mistake. Oops. I’ll go check it out. I used to be jealous of morning people. Then I discovered the coffee bean and created morning personness for me in a cup too. Yum.
Morning Person? I am NOT.
PS;Happy 4th Of July Weekend. I hope you’re having fun!
Technically, I am not a morning person…although I can work up something by about 9 to appear in my right mind and functional…
Good Afternoon! I indeed am a morning person! I can go to bed late night and rise early singing and all! Why should we apologize for having joy in our lives and a happy spirit early in the morning? The way I see it, we were BLESSED to have been given another day on this earth. Why not be pleasant? And if that’s just not in you, why attempt to ruin someone else’s mood? Keep that sour attitude to yourself! Great post!!!
Ms. Q: I remember when you first announced the termination of employment. It really hit home. People in my life were experiencing the same thing at the time. And to now see you enjoying your job and being around people that resemble good and have a great spirit is an amazing change.
I’m keeping my spirits high in hopes of meeting folk that have a great spirit about them. The Orange Phoenix and Dan-Sean both resemble that. They are close to me. And then we have folk like you and many others that resemble that same them. Life is great.
Lavenderbay: Glad to be of inspiration. I enjoyed reading the post.
sHaE-sHaE: What your co-workers don’t know won’t hurt them (at least not in that respect). A lot of us have methods to get us to that particular point. Hopefully some of it will rub off on them as they ponder why you’re so darn happy.
Sue: LOL… Funny how one element can change the rest of our being. One coffee bean… Should have thought about that for my ONE post.
Meleah: You’re such a great person. Afternoon person, maybe? And thank you. Hope the 4th was good for you as well.
MarvalusOne: Nine is when you start work? As long as you get there by then I think the world appreciates it.
DSM: LOL… True. You aught to sing more often… and thx.
I am a big believer in the law of attraction (aka “The Secret” which popularized it) and I also believe we get what we think we deserve. What we believe we DESERVE is a powerful belief.
Sometimes it takes a while to discover what you truly think you deserve. Someone I know keeps getting these demeaning female managers and jobs that grind you to dust and dehumanize you.
He’s working on his beliefs but he has many struggles with self-worth and self-love. Part of him believes that these jobs are what he deserves.
I’ve been working on my own beliefs when it comes to finding my soulmate. For some reason I’ve ended up with emotionally wounded (and ultimately unavailable) men. Good men, just not available.
I’ve done a LOT of affirmations and have had many dates with someone who doesn’t seem to have this wounded thing going on and is pretty successful and more my “match.”
I am not quite sure about him but the encouraging thing is that he’s closer to what I’m looking for! Time will tell but I’m hopeful.
