It’s Hump Day: That’s An Excuse for a Contest
By Urban Thought on June 11, 2008 @ 10:38 am
It’s hump day and life is off the chain. Do people still say that? “Off the chain!”
Moving right along… I’m suppose to announce a contest today. I like contests. I don’t normally win anything in life. Although, I have won the power to blog and the power to reach out to the good observers of the world. So at this time I want to thank you for stopping by my corner of the world. Actually, let me say our corner of the world. This blog isn’t about Thought alone. The Orange Phoenix and Dan-Sean Mankind are family and are apart of this project, blog, life experience too.
Now… After all that I propose to you the opportunity to win. Win big. Yes, you too can be a winner. How is that? Well, here is the deal.
The Orange Phoenix and I (or is it “me and The Orange Phoenix) thought up the family member that you wish you could disown but can’t cause they are family. We thought that to be a great idea to blog about. But I’m scrapping that idea. (Sorry OP… I’m feeling myself today. It’s hump day.)
So here is the deal… We have a contest running this week.
Theme: If you had the power to do anything in the world without consequence what would it be?
Rules:
- Leave your entry in the comments or post it on your blog and link to this page.
That’s it. Simple as cake. The prizes can be found here and is courtesy of the good folks at Hachette Book Group (we love sponsors here at Urban Observation).
The first five people to participate win. How easy is that?
Now hit up the comments and start blogging.

I’d leave my company and drive from New York to the southern most tip Peru then take a plane to Europe and learn the language of every country I visit.
Enter the porn industry. LOL!
change the hearts and minds of mankind for the greater good.
if that doesn’t fly, then i want to. lol
^ Yeah that I’d do when I hit Brazil.
can i win food if i play
I’d get through to all the young people: preteens, teens and young adults in our world who seem to not have a clue, to “Spike Lee” them all, “WAKE UP!!!!” To end the nonsense, should we start off with a huge, world-wide, spanking line? hmmmm……
‘S funny. I recently heard someone ask, “If you had a magic wand, what would you use it for?” and the guy who answer the question said something like new stereo equipment, money, and a few other things and he ended with, “Hmm…it all sounds a bit selfish…”
I thought about it and it sounds trite to say, “world peace” or “cure for cancer” but more and more I think that if somehow everyone could love themselves and see the beauty in others, all our problems would just…fade away. So much of what we do is about power and the power is our need to feed our ego and our ego is about lack of loving ourself.
But this would have a huge consequence!
