Thanksgiving is supposed to be about family and turkey (and house hoping). Making excuses to ignore your dietary habits and eating ’til you bust are some of the goals for many today.
Back in the day I would house hop. I wasn’t one to just stay home (I come from a small home - party of two). The best way I thought to spend my time was with others (mom included). Three homes in a day was the minimum. The most would be a plentiful seven. I have yet to beat that record and I don’t plan to do so any time soon.
It took some time to come to grips with actually celebrating Thanksgiving. I thought it to be one of those evil Holiday’s where life was sacrificed and the truth was never told of how badly the Indians were actually treated. If you know not what I speak then please by all means do some research.
But enough of all that depressing stuff…
(if you cannot stand a little mushy emotion stop here)
I’ve learned to appreciate life and give thanks for the blessings. Knowing that I live to see another day is great. Knowing that I can love my family and friends for another day is a blessing. Knowing that I can live to learn again is a blessing. I can go on and on… They say count your blessings… But when you run out of fingers you know you are doing well (please don’t take them for granted).
I AM THANKFUL
I am thankful and I want to let you know. I have had a tough week but I’m thankful that I’ve had the week to get tough with. I’ve had some moments that I wanted to cry but I’m thankful that I am able to cry. Life is beautiful.
I THANK YOU
READERS:
I am thankful that you stop drop in on this blog known as Urban Observation. Some people find the site through search and others through some other means. Either way I am thankful that you take the time out to read or take a quick glance. Thank you for the comments and sharing your time here.
BLOGGERS:
Blogging ain’t easy (said with the beat of Pimping Ain’t EASY) but sure is fun. There are plenty of bloggers out there. Some of them I won’t name here but I will point out a few of them:
Peogles:I am thankful for your help in building Urban Observation. It is because of Peogles that I got into blogging. Thank you Peogles. I look forward to more posts from you as you journey on through the path of life.
QMusings: The one and only Ms. Q. Wow is what I say about you. And you know why that is. You are truly an inspiration. Your posts are always on time. Reading your blog makes me want to step my game up.
Literanista: You may be the last person I mention but you aren’t the last at anything. I appreciate your daily guidance and the time you take to help me find vision. You are truly appreciated.
U N LO A D E D: The coolest dude, Ricardo, does his thing over there and I’m not mad at him. I don’t know where he gets his pics of those fine as woman but I have to find out. I’m glad to see you back from your hiatus. You’re truly missed when you’re gone.
Invisible Woman: You blog about what I love, movies. It is what I do when I have time and you take it to the next level. I’m thankful I came across your blog. Stay strong doing what you do.
TEAM: URBAN OBSERVATION:
Family makes the world go round. My family helps me in producing posts for the site, The Orange Phoenix & Dan-Sean Mankind. These two people are some of the greatest artists I’ve ever come across and have the pleasure of knowing. They are both multi-talented and gifted people. I have so much love for you both; I cannot tell you enough.
The Orange Phoenix: Seeing you every week is one thing but talking to you is even better. I’ll hold back from what I feel but I’ll tell you that you do the damn thing. Don’t let people get you down.
Dan-Sean Mankind: I couldn’t have been blessed with a better brother. When moms had you she really did it big. With your soulful voice, great verse for the spoken word and the heart of a king I couldn’t thank you enough for being the greatest sibling.
NOT TO SOUND PREACHY…
… Take the time out to give thanks. I WISH YOU all WELL through the Holiday Season.
I am thankful for being able.
I am thankful for being able.

It is a great opportunity for me to also tell Val thanks for all the help!
Happy-Thanksgiving you two
Wow right back atcha!! And once again we’re tuned in! Our posts seem to be singing the same thankful song. Your blog is an inspiration - you keep stretching yourself and putting more and more of yourself out there (here) and you show the rest of us what we’re capable of.
Love. Peace. Harmony. I’m all over that mushy stuff! Can’t get enough! Here’s to bustin’ our guts on it.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Orli: I’m sure she is off feasting some where either with fam or with loved ones (one in the same). Oh… And THANK YOU!
Ms. Q: I’ve always said that your posts are right on time, today is no different. Thanks for noticing. One of my friends told me I was a bit cold in my blogging. Being free of myself is something that I’m working on within the blog and offline.
I just checked out “Invisible Woman’s” blog - wow, insight into a whole different world for me - Movies and blacks in movies!
D-S M is your brother??? Wow. He IS cool. Then again, same mom ;-D
I look forward to reading about your mom some day. It took ME a while but my mom finally made it into my blog. Typical mom when I told her that people like my mom stories, “Of course. I’m funny and interesting.”
Totally deadpan. Like, it’s a fact of life.
Thank you sir, that was much appreciated. I have an eye for a good looking woman and if I find them, they may just make it on the blog.
Also, a big thanks to you and everyone else at Urban Observation for giving us some great insights and an overall great blog.
And before I forget…
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Thank you too…
Ms. Q: Isn’t she amazing? I was happy to have come across her in the blogosphere. I think it was through MBL.
D-S M is my brother from another mother. Hard to explain here but not hard to explain in reality. If you know how the dynamic of a ‘big picture family’ works then you can get the gist of the ‘another mother’ statement.
Ricardo: From all of us here we say YOU ARE WELCOME and THANK YOU again.
IW: Keep doing it big.
ALL: So much love to go around. I’m glad I share this space with you.
