Are shock jocks going too far?

In an ongoing effort to keep their audiences entertained, shock jocks are increasingly going too far with their words. We had Imus a few months back talking of Nappy Headed Hos, now we have Opie & Anthony talking about raping women.
Opie and Anthony, best known for their 2002 “Sex in St. Patrick’s Cathedral” stunt, which aired on the radio, allowed Homeless Charlie to go on a rant about raping women. Not just any women though. Homeless Charlie was calling out names. Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth are all on this dudes radar.
I’m not exactly sure when it become OK to profess the raping of woman. However, this is going a bit too far. The nappy headed hos situation was one thing. But violence against women? The line has to be drawn somewhere.
I’m sure Homeless Charlie came out of a woman just like Opie and Anthony. Can they not see the disrespect and the influence they may have on their audience? Women are already put in the worst positions these days when it comes to men. Everything in our society is double sided. And, the women usually get the worst side of it all.
At a time when women should be praised and admired for the strength and dedication they have for their own families, they are instead being disgraced and talked down upon by men.
We all need to take a minute and appreciate the woman in our lives. Call these dudes out and tell them ‘enough is enough.’ Women don’t need to be the butt of any joke, especially when it comes to the infliction of violence.
