All I can say is that the designated day like all the other designated days has been commercialized ad nausea (to benefit those entitled, whining guilt trippers who seem to never get enough and must always have it their way).
I’m sure the majority of world population acknowledges parents, mentors, friends, etc., on a regular, with price tag as necessary without fanfare because its genuine. In retail, Mother’s Day usually balances the books big time.
