LAPD FlashLight Beat Down, No More?

By on April 2, 2007 @ 5:26 pm

In an attempt to stop flashlight beat downs by cops on the beat of LA, the LAPD has introduced a new flashlight (an attempt to keep the rate of law suits down).

Weighing in at a mere 10.4 ounces, 50% lighter than the previous standard issue model, the Pelican 7060 LED flashlight is sure to be less likely to knock a suspect into submission. Instead they’ll be able to blind the subject with the high intensity light and then knock them out with the back of their gun.

One thing is for sure this will be one less item you can hurt a person with. However, we still have guns an batons to worry about.
