Sean Bell vs. The City of New York

It isn’t the Black People vs. White People its more like Black vs. Blue. It isn’t Al Sharpton vs. NYPD but the Black Community/Human Rights vs. The City of New York/America.

In a never ending battle for justice in the streets of the city we find ourselves as targets in the streets we use to travel through our every day lives. Feeling unsafe around any cop no matter what color is a concern for most young black men, if not all. Should we live in fear thinking that every time we pull out our wallets that someone will shoot us dead? Do we need to be concerned if we see an officer with a plunger in one hand and a smile on his face?

NYC is known for many things. One is the many cases of police brutality and the feeling that no matter how wrong a cop is he is always right in the eyes of the law.

The Sean Bell case only makes us wonder how soon these officers will get off. When will the police learn that just because you see black folk that we aren’t all criminals (I’m not just speaking of this case)?
