After reading bad reviews about the movie Norbit I had to take the opportunity to see it. After all, I never trust film critics when it comes down to an Eddie Murphy (I probably should have said Academy Award Nominee, oh, I just did… LOL) movie.

If you have high hopes and looking for a gut busting good time with lots of laughs then don’t waste your time and money. Saying that, I say go see the movie. Why? Because it is funny.

With comedians such as Eddie Griffin and Katt Williams you get that extra kick (the wedding scene is funny because of them). There are other folks in the film such as Cuba Gooding Jr. who has a lot of stereo typical black issues (which is far from the white bread life we know him for). I’m not sure what rock he crawled from under for the role he played but it seems that even with his Academy Award he can’t get a break for better films.

Lets face facts, Eddie Murphy is talented. Any man who can play three characters and keep the chemistry flowing is genius. (Keep in mind this isn’t new to Eddie. He has done the same in Nutty Professor 1 & 2 and Coming to America)

So why shouldn’t you see the movie? Because you may have better things to do with your time. It isn’t all that great if you have little to no tolerance for stupidity. Why see the movie? Because its a handful of laughs.
