Living in NYC you come across a lot of folk who aren’t from here. A lot of these visitors (or residents) have either thick accents or speak limited english.
So why is it that when we (those who feel they speak english well or clearly) feel the need to shout or raise our voices to them when they ask a question? As if speaking louder will make them understand us any better.
Like Arsenio Hall once said, “Something to make you say HMMMM.” (as you place your finger on the temple of your head)
